SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death in the line of duty of Officer Robin G. Vogel of Springfield on Monday, October 03, 2005; and

WHEREAS, Officer Vogel was born on September 6, 1968, in Arlington Heights to Robert and Marilyn Pavlicek Cisowski; she had been a Police Officer for the city of Decatur for the last six years and was a member of the PB&PA #39 and the Springfield Ski and Boat Club; she was a third-shift patrol officer, a field training officer, and a cultural diversity officer; and

WHEREAS, She recently received her Associates Degree from Lincoln Land Community College and enjoyed outdoor activities, but she especially liked to play softball; and

WHEREAS, To her colleagues, she was known as energetic, upbeat, and spirited; her enthusiastic attitude rubbed off on all those with whom she came into contact; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Officer Robin Vogel has been deeply felt by many, especially her son, Alex West; her parents, Robert and Marilyn Pavlicek Cisowski; her sisters, Cheryl Davis and Suzie Brown (husband, Bruce); her grandfather, Louis Pavlicek; her nephews, Justin and Matthew Brown; her ex-husband, Michael Vogel; her special friend, Adam Jahraus; and her many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; she was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Grace Pavlicek, and her paternal grandparents, Nicholas and Jennie Cisowski; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Officer Robin G. Vogel, and we extend our deepest sympathy to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to her family as an expression of our sincerest condolences.
