SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of Sam Smith of Jonesboro on Monday, October 3, 2005; and

WHEREAS, Sam Smith was born on November 21, 1974 to Jim and Betty Shepard Smith in Cape Girardeau, Missouri; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Sam Smith has been deeply felt by many, especially his parents; his sister, Sandra (Charles) Clements; his brother, Scott (Shawna) Smith; his niece, Katie Smith; his nephews, Jimmy Dodson, Gene Smith, Floyd Smith, and Stephen Smith; and many other relatives and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Sam Smith, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
