SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Phyllis J. Schwegel of Alton on September 9, 2005; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Schwegel was born November 13, 1936, in Alton, to Gerald and Rose (Kulp) Eppel; and

WHEREAS, She married Robert "Bud" Schwegel on April 22, 1957; they shared their life and their business, Schwegel's Grocery, in a partnership for nearly 50 years; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Phyllis Schwegel is felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her husband; her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Sarah Schwegel; her daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and Rick Alexander, Lorrie and Sam Laughlin, Theresa and Mark Crowson, and Monica and Brian Campbell; her grandchildren and their spouses, Eileen and Andy Wellinghoff, Chris O'Neill, Nick Laughlin and Kelly Laughlin, Nathan and Sarah Crowson, Adam Schwegel, and Josh Alexander; her great-grandson, A.J. Wellinghoff; her brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Rene Eppel; and her other extended family and many friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Phyllis Schwegel and extend our sincerest condolences to her family, friends, and community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to her family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
