SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with regret of the death of Viginia M. Tonsor of Alton on Friday, October 7, 2005; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Tonsor was born on September 14, 1912, in Alton to August and Emma (Nolan) Eckhard; she married Jack M. Tonsor on July 4, 1933 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton, where she was a longtime member; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Tonsor was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Alton Post 1308; she was an avid bridge player; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four sisters, and two brothers; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Virginia Tonsor has been deeply felt by many, especially her two daughters and sons-in-law, Judith A. and Paul Woulfe and Jacqueline L. and Ralph Gissal; her son and daughter-in-law, John P. and Fran Tonsor; her brother, Mike Eckhard; her sister, Bertha Byron; her eight grandchildren and their spouses, Matthew Woulfe, Virginia and David Biele, Mark and Teresa Woulfe, Andrew and Melissa Woulfe, Theresa Markley, Antoinette and Jack Swoboda, Brenda Gissal, and John Gissal; her four stepgrandchildren and their spouses, Lena and Mike Pinkston, Tena and Danny Myers, Lisa and Burt Sturgis, and Kelley Suzewits; her eight great-grandchildren; her eight stepgreat-grandchildren; and other extended family and many dear friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Virginia M. Tonsor, and we extend our sincerest condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to her family as an expression of our deepest sympathy for their loss.
