SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of Mark A. Linder, age 31, of
4 Peoria, on October 15, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born October 18, 1973 in Peoria to Jody
6 Linder and Rex Linder; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Mark was graduated from Richwoods High School; he
8 received his bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois
9 University in 1995; he completed his master's degree studies at
10 Western Kentucky University in 1997 in the field of
11 industrial-occupational psychology; and
 
12     WHEREAS, He was employed in Information Services at CEFCU
13 (Citizens Equity First Credit Union); and
 
14     WHEREAS, He was an active volunteer with the American Red
15 Cross and the Relay for Life; he was active in the American
16 Brain Tumor Association and that Association honored Mark by
17 establishing an academic fellowship in his honor, known as the
18 Mark Linder/American Brain Tumor Association Fellowship; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Mark founded the Walk for the Mind, a fundraiser
20 walk for brain tumor research, which was first held on Peoria's
21 Riverfront in 2003; the most recent Walk for the Mind in 2005
22 involved more than 300 participants and raised in excess of
23 $25,000 for brain tumor research and related activities; and
 
24     WHEREAS, The passing of Mark A. Linder is felt by all who
25 knew and loved him, especially his parents, Jody Linder and Rex
26 and Laurie Linder; his sisters Jamie and Stacie; his
27 grandparents, Lyman D. Ketchum and Mary Kay and Louis Amberg;
28 aunts and uncles, Barbara and Alan Ketchum, Betty and Nick
29 Kouzomis, Mary and Marc Folladori, Beverlie and Robert Scott,

1 Joyce and Bill Gum, Mimi and Lester Chernick, Stacey and Rich
2 Amberg, and Lou Amberg; and numerous cousins; therefore, be it
 
3     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
4 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5 Mark A. Linder and we extend our sincerest condolences to his
6 family, friends, and community; and be it further
 
7     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
9 sympathy.
