SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of Gabriel (Vallianatos)
4 Vallas of Brimfield on Thursday, September 22, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Vallas was born on August 17, 1921, in
6 Williamsfield to Noufris and Mary Ensley Vallas; he married
7 Idora E. Clark on August 22, 1942; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Mr. Vallas worked for N.E. Finch for twenty-five
9 years; in 1984, he retired as a truck driver; he was a member
10 of Teamsters Local 627 in Peoria; and
 
11     WHEREAS, Mr. Vallas was a member and past Worthy President
12 of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 265 in Peoria; he was
13 also a member of Horeb Lodge 363 AF&AM in Elmwood and an
14 associate member of the Fraternal Order of Police; and
 
15     WHEREAS, Mr. Vallas attended Edwards United methodist
16 Church in Edwards; and
 
17     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife, his son,
18 George, a grandson, five brothers, and one sister; and
 
19     WHEREAS, The passing of Gabriel (Vallianatos) Vallas has
20 been deeply felt by many, especially his daughter, Donna Sue
21 (Dennis) Hopwood; his three sons, Carl (Paula) Vallianatos,
22 Kenneth (Janet) Vallas, and Donald (Janet) Vallianatos; his
23 four sisters; his brother; his thirteen grandchildren; his
24 nineteen great-grandchildren; and his great-great grandson;
25 therefore, be it
 
26     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
27 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
28 Gabriel (Vallianatos) Vallas, and we extend our sincerest

1 condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
2 him; and be it further
 
3     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
5 sympathy for their loss.
