SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of Mrs. Blondell Luster on
4 August 9, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, She was born on January 17, 1927, in Chicago to
6 Maddie and Ephrin Polk; she received her education in Chicago,
7 and at the age of 20, she married Freddie Luster; he preceded
8 her in death; and
 
9     WHEREAS, She was an active and devout member and supporter
10 of St. Dorothy Catholic Church; she was greatly loved, admired,
11 and respected by her family, her employees, church members, and
12 many friends; and
 
13     WHEREAS, She had many talents, including sewing, knitting,
14 crocheting, and furniture refinishing, and she shared these
15 talents by teaching sewing, knitting, and crocheting classes in
16 the projects; she loved to entertain and serve fresh,
17 home-cooked meals; and
 
18     WHEREAS, The passing of Blondell Luster has been deeply
19 felt by many, especially her sons, Jory and Freddie; her
20 daughter, Sonja; her brothers-in-law, Precious, Herb, and
21 Stephen; her sisters-in-law, Barbara Carney, Shirley Stewart,
22 Doris Reeves, and Helen Hall; her grandchildren, Freddie III,
23 Jory Jr., Christopher, Theresa, and Simone; and her many nieces
24 and nephews; therefore, be it
 
25     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
26 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
27 Blondell Luster, and we extend our sincere condolences to her
28 family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
29 further

1     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to her family as an expression of our deepest
3 sympathy.
