SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of William Severin O'Sullivan
4 of Boonville, Indiana, formerly of Evansville, on Saturday,
5 September 3, 2005; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Mr. O'Sullivan was born in Evansville and was a
7 1946 graduate of Reitz Memorial High School; he was an optician
8 for 61 years and was founder and CEO of Optical Laboratory
9 Supply Inc., O'SO, Inc., and Eyeglass Factory Outlet in Warrick
10 County; and
 
11     WHEREAS, A lifelong Catholic, he was a member of St. Rupert
12 Catholic Church in Newburgh, Indiana, at the time of his death;
13 he was a governor and lifetime member of American Business
14 Club, an executive board member of the Evansville Petroleum
15 Club, and a Kentucky Colonel, among his many other charitable
16 and business activities throughout the years; he also had the
17 distinction of being a Big Ten umpire for baseball games in
18 five decades; and
 
19     WHEREAS, The passing of Mr. O'Sullivan has been deeply felt
20 by many, especially his wife of 54 years, Pat (Leffler)
21 O'Sullivan; his daughters, Sheryl O'Sullivan and husband,
22 James Green, and Stacia O'Sullivan Schofield and husband,
23 Brett; his son, Scott William "Tagg" O'Sullivan and wife,
24 Alyce; his sister, Nadine Kolb; and his grandchildren, Collin
25 Smyser, Whitney Smyser, Theile O'Sullivan, Sean O'Sullivan,
26 Kirsten Schofield, and Caitlin Schofield; therefore, be it
 
27     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
28 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
29 William Severin O'Sullivan, and we extend our sincere
30 condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
31 him; and be it further

1     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
3 sympathy.
