SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of the Reverend Kenneth E.
4 Price of Benton on Saturday, August 27, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born on August 25, 1935, to Kenneth M. and
6 Dorothy (Mandrell) Price; he married Leora Schultz on November
7 21, 1953; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Reverend Price was pastor at Mount Zion Baptist
9 Church in Ashley, Beechgrove Baptist Church in Jonesboro, and
10 Pate Chapel in Murphysboro; he retired after working 44 years
11 for CIPS as a utility foreman; he was a member of Northern
12 Baptist Church in West Frankfort; he enjoyed taking his
13 grandchildren on summer vacations, woodworking, and winter
14 vacationing in their motor home in Texas; and
 
15     WHEREAS, The passing of Reverend Price has been deeply felt
16 by many, especially his wife of 51 years, Leora; his daughter,
17 Kendra Newbury and husband, Les; his sons, Alan and wife, Lisa,
18 and Brad and wife, Mary; his grandchildren, Richelle Bigham,
19 Melody Bigham, April Srna and husband, James, Jon Newbury,
20 Brittany Newbury, Amy Heard and husband, Joe, Emily Price,
21 Maggie Price, Victoria Price, and Nicholas Price; his
22 great-grandson, Tyler Heard; his father, the Reverend Kenneth
23 M. Price; his aunt, Bea Chan; and his many cousins; he was
24 preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy; his brother, Bobby;
25 and his sister, Shirley; therefore, be it
 
26     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
27 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
28 the Reverend Kenneth E. Price, and we extend our sincere
29 condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
30 him; and be it further

2 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
3 sympathy.
