SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with regret of the death of Rosetta Lucas of Waukegan on Tuesday, September 20, 2005; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Lucas was born in Greenville, Mississippi, on January 12, 1941, to William and Alberta Clinton; she was a current member of Brothers after the order of Jesus Orthodox Church; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Alberta Clinton; her brothers, William "Monk", George Clinton, Ross Adams, and Jessie Clinton; her aunt, Magnolia Lampkins; her uncles, Levi West and Reverend William Ivy Jenkins; and her cousin, O.C. Cobwell; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Rosetta Lucas has been deeply felt by many, especially her sons, Rueben, George, and Robert Lucas; her daughter, Andrea Lucas; her former husband, George W. Lucas; her granddaughters, Frankie and Alexandra Lucas; her sister; her uncles, Willie Riddly and Lewis Lampkins; and her many special cousins, the Clintons, and many more nephews and nieces; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Rosetta Lucas, and we extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to her family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
