SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with deep sadness of the untimely death of Shaniya
4 Ja'el Crittle on Saturday, August 13, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Shaniya was born on February 3, 2003 to LaCresha
6 and Rayonous; she was known affectionately as Pepto, Suga Duga,
7 Poopie, and Mellow Yellow; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Even at a young and tender age, Shaniya said her
9 prayers each day and grace before she ate; she had a magnetic
10 personality, a smile that would light up any room, and a laugh
11 that would mend any broken heart; and
 
12     WHEREAS, She attended Lilly's Learning Center, where she
13 was loved dearly; she was no ordinary child; her intelligence
14 was beyond that of the average two-year-old; she loved to sing,
15 dance, go to church, and play with her Dora doll; her favorite
16 movie was "Shrek", and she loved to sit on her mother's lap
17 while she read to her; and
 
18     WHEREAS, The passing of Shaniya Ja'el Crittle has been
19 deeply felt by those close to her, especially her mother,
20 LaCresha; her father, Rayonous; her siblings, Treyonous,
21 Shamiya, Antoiniya, and Jayden; her grandparents, Alice and
22 Samuel Crittle and Sharon and Joseph Wilson; her aunt, Evalena
23 (Maurice); her uncles, Markell and Cortez; her special cousins,
24 Thristian and Dimitri; her godparents, Sonja (Boobie) and
25 Calvin; her second family, the Pouncys; and her other relatives
26 and special friends; therefore, be it
 
27     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
28 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
29 Shaniya Ja'el Crittle, who was taken from this world at much
30 too young an age, and we extend our deepest sympathy to her

1 family and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
 
2     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3 presented to her family as an expression of our sincerest
4 condolences during their time of bereavement.
