SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of Frank J. Nustra of
4 Highwood on August 1, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Nustra was born January 30, 1910, in Nazareth,
6 Pennsylvania; he moved to Highwood in 1910 with his family; and
 
7     WHEREAS, He served in the Army during World War II and was
8 a commander of the Highwood American Legion; and
 
9     WHEREAS, He went to work in the Lake County Treasurer's
10 office in 1939 and was Deputy Treasurer in 1959 when he was
11 appointed to the Recorder of Deeds post; he was Deerfield
12 Township Justice of the Peace for 19 years before being
13 appointed as Recorder of Deeds and was the longest-serving
14 elected official in Lake County when he retired as Recorder of
15 Deeds in 1996; when he took office in 1959, the Recorder's
16 office handled 100 to 200 documents a day; when he left in
17 1996, the office handled nearly four million documents daily;
18 and
 
19     WHEREAS, He was the past president of the Illinois
20 Association of County Officials and the founder of the
21 International Association of Clerks, Recorders, Election
22 Officials, and Treasurers (IACREOT); and
 
23     WHEREAS, The passing of Frank Nustra will be felt by all
24 who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Florence; his son,
25 Jerry (Candee) Nustra; his daughter, Cheri (Hank) Warner; his
26 grandchildren, Jon and Lindsay Nustra and Christopher, Jeremy
27 (Danielle), and Gina Warner; and his brother, George Nustra;
28 therefore, be it
 
29     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL

1 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
2 Frank Nustra and extend our sincerest condolences to his
3 family, friends, and community; and be it further
 
4     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
6 sympathy.
