| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
| 3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Art "Bud" Bourland of West |
| 4 |
| Frankfort on July 25, 2005; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born May 21, 1940, in Franklin County to |
| 6 |
| Arthur Herman Bourland and May (Henson) Bourland; he married |
| 7 |
| Laura Staffey on October 19, 2002; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Bourland served his country as a member of the |
| 9 |
| U.S. Navy; he retired June 1, 2005, as coordinator of the |
| 10 |
| Franklin County Emergency Services and Disaster
Agency and was |
| 11 |
| the coordinator of the city of West
Frankfort Emergency |
| 12 |
| Services and Disaster Agency; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Art "Bud" Bourland has been deeply |
| 14 |
| felt by many, especially his wife, Laura; his brother, F.E. |
| 15 |
| "Red" Bourland; his sister, Kathy Braden; his stepdaughter, |
| 16 |
| Lori Miner; his stepson, Joseph Miner; and his four |
| 17 |
| step-grandchildren;
he was preceded in death by his parents; |
| 18 |
| his first wife, Barbara Jean Bourland in 1999; and his brother, |
| 19 |
| Jim Bourland; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
| 21 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 22 |
| Art "Bud" Bourland, and we extend our sincere condolences to |
| 23 |
| his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
| 24 |
| further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 26 |
| presented to his family as an expression of our deepest |
| 27 |
| sympathy.
