1 SENATE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, Riverboats licensed under the Riverboat Gambling
3 Act generate millions of dollars in revenue each year for the
4 communities in which they dock; and

5     WHEREAS, The city of Elgin has received a vast windfall
6 from the riverboats that dock within its borders; therefore, be
7 it

8     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
9 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that the Illinois Senate
10 urges that, if a license authorizing riverboat gambling
11 operations in Cook County is issued, any municipality in which
12 riverboats dock pursuant to such a license enter into
13 agreements with all other municipalities in Cook County, other
14 than Elgin, to share the revenues generated by riverboat
15 gambling conducted pursuant to such a license; and be it
16 further

17     RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
18 delivered to the top ranking municipal official in each
19 municipality in Cook County.
