SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Stanley F. Pyktel of Park City, formerly of North Chicago, on April 14, 2005; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Pyktel was born May 7, 1915, in Waukegan, and remained a lifelong resident of the area; and

WHEREAS, He served as a medic in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific; he worked at Oakes Products (Hudiel Hershey), followed by Abbott Laboratories for 22 years, until he retired in 1981; and

WHEREAS, He served as Alderman of North Chicago for 20 years and was a current member of the Knights of Columbus 731, American Legion Sharvin Post 397 of North Chicago, and the North Chicago Seniors Club; he was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing and golf; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph and Edward Pyktel; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Stanley F. Pyktel is felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife of 63 years, Julia (nee Pencak) Pyktel; his daughters, Joanne (Mike) Christensen, Darlene (Larry) Boegen, and Karen (Gary) Wamboldt; his grandchildren, Tami, Michael, Ricki Lynn, Dawn, Lauren, and John; his great-grandchildren, Rick and Christen; and his sister, Florence Gilewski; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Stanley F. Pyktel and extend our sincerest condolences to his family, friends, and community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
