SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of William T. "Pete" Wallace of Herrin on July 17, 2005; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Wallace was born August 22, 1925, to Willie T. and Zetta Elva (Johnson) Wallace; and

WHEREAS, He served in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946; he married Alice "Jayne" Weaver on February 24, 1945, in Osceloa, Arkansas; he was a member of Hurricane Memorial Baptist Church for many years; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Eve Sturm; and

WHEREAS, The passing of William Wallace is felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his two daughters, Gwen "Susie" Kelley and Kelly Skelly; his son and daughter-in-law, Greg Wallace and Denise Coon; his sister, Gloria Anderson; and his five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we express our most sincere regret at the passing of William Wallace and extend our condolences to his family, friends, and community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
