SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with regret of the death of Norma L. Magnuson of West Frankfort on Monday, July 4, 2005; and

WHEREAS, She was born on July 22, 1935, in West Frankfort to Thomas Walker and Flossie (Williams) Walker; she married Virgil Magnuson, and he preceded her in death on November 3, 1998; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Magnuson was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in West Frankfort; she received her master's degree in English and her master's degree in library science; she was a former high school teacher in Illinois and was retired from the office of Faculty and Alumni at West Chester University in West Chester, Pennsylvania; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Norma L. Magnuson has been deeply felt by many, especially her brother, Oren Walker and wife, Kay; her sisters, Esther Eggley and husband, Tom, and Frances Pettit; her aunts, Elsie Lawrence, Mary Edna Lawrence, Freida Williams, and Pearl Williams; and her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; she was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Virgil; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Norma L. Magnuson, and we extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to her family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
