SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Christopher "Chris" Dwyer of McHenry on May 18, 2005; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Dwyer was born December 24, 1951, in Chicago to George and Mary (Dixon) Dwyer; he married Marianne Bartoli on September 18, 1976, in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, He served four years on active duty in the U.S. Coast Guard and seven more years on reserve duty; and

WHEREAS, He was a firefighter/paramedic for the City of Evanston from 1992 until he retired in 2005; he also volunteered as a paramedic for the McHenry Township Fire Protection District from 1988 to 1995, serving as a training officer for two years; and

WHEREAS, From 1979 to 1992, Mr. Dwyer owned and operated the Prop Shop in Fox Lake; and

WHEREAS, He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Johnsburg; he served as a union steward and was a member of the Fire Fighters Local 742 for over eight years; and

WHEREAS, He will be remembered as a loving, caring, family-oriented person who touched the lives of everyone who knew him; he was a member of the ski patrol at Grand Geneva and Wilmot Mountain Resort; he loved boating and especially enjoyed the beaches while vacationing in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Christopher "Chris" Dwyer is felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife of 28 years, Marianne; his children, Kevin and Kerry Dwyer; his mother, Mary Jo Dwyer; and his sisters, Patricia (Robert) Clem and Constance Vavrinek; he was preceded in death by his father, George Patrick Dwyer, and a brother, Thomas James Dwyer; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Christopher "Chris" Dwyer and we join his family, friends, and community in remembering his many years of courageous and dedicated service; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
