SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
learned with great sadness of the death of Trevor Lehmann of
Wheeling on Thursday, January 13, 2005; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Lehmann served two terms as a Wheeling
trustee, and was known to be a pro-business politician who
brought new business and development to the village; he
co-owned a Century 21 real estate office in Wheeling and was
elected to the Village Board in 1997; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Lehmann is perhaps best known for establishing
Friendship Park on the village's east side; when village plans
for the park became bogged down in political infighting, Mr.
Lehmann paid an architect to design the park; on May 18, the
village renamed a fountain in the park after him; and

WHEREAS, After he learned last January that he had
amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a fatal neurological disorder
known as Lou Gehrig's disease, Mr. Lehmann brought that same
energy and persistence that he exhibited as a trustee to
battling ALS; he faced his disease with unflappable calm and
humor, and in July, the Skokie-based Les Turner ALS Foundation
awarded Mr. Lehmann and his wife, Jen Lehmann, its
Humanitarians of the Year Award; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Trevor Lehmann has been deeply felt
by many, especially his wife, Jen; his mother, Marcia; and his
sister, Emilie Reynolds; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Trevor Lehmann, a man who will be remembered as an effective
business and community leader who really cared about his
community, and we extend our deepest sympathy to his family,
