SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of William Tobias "Bill"
4 Perry of Wood River on May 22, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Perry was born January 11, 1945, in
6 Belleville, Kansas, to William Frank and Helen Twyla (Speich)
7 Perry; and
 
8     WHEREAS, He married the former Diane Spickard on June 7,
9 1965, in Lawrence, Kansas; and
 
10     WHEREAS, He graduated from the University of Kansas in 1967
11 with a bachelor of science degree and with minors in biological
12 science, social studies, and language arts; and
 
13     WHEREAS, He was a teacher for 37 years, with the last 30
14 years at East Alton-Wood River Community High School; he also
15 coached football, track, golf, bowling, and wrestling; and
 
16     WHEREAS, He was active in the community, heading fund
17 drives for Multiple Sclerosis and The Cancer Institute; he was
18 on the Police and Firemen's Board for the City of Wood River;
19 he enjoyed golf, reading, traveling, and attending cultural and
20 sporting events; he was a member of the Wood River Moose and
21 the Police Pension Board; and
 
22     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; and
 
23     WHEREAS, The passing of William Tobias "Bill" Perry is felt
24 by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Diane; his
25 daughters, Angie Perry and Heather (Scott) Gabbert; his
26 grandchildren, Anna and Matthew Gabbert; his sisters, Judy
27 (Thom) McGuire and Francie (John) Hattabaugh; his brother, Jim
28 (Karen) Perry; his nephew, John McGuire; his special friends,

1 John Bradley and Antoinette Williams; and his mother-in-law and
2 father-in-law, Roland and Cleo Spickard; therefore, be it
 
3     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
4 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5 William Tobias "Bill" Perry and extend our sincerest
6 condolences to his family, friends, and community; and be it
7 further
 
8     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
10 sympathy.
