SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Helen Franklin of Colp on May 9, 2005; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Franklin was born January 12, 1915, in Herrin, to Charles and Gertrude (Margraves) Daniels; and

WHEREAS, She married John Phillips, who preceded her in death, and then married Enoch Franklin; and

WHEREAS, She was a homemaker and a devoted member of Cambria First Apostolic Church; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husbands; her stepdaughter, Rilla Haught; her sisters, Dania Daniels, Martha Masters, Ruby Carney, Lela Berry, Ollie McKnight, Lois Daniels, and an infant sister; and her brothers, James Albert, Charles Lloyd, William Frank, and Louis Virgil Daniels; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Helen Franklin is felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her stepsons, Conrad and Lois Franklin, Dayton and Bonnie Franklin, and Lynwood and Lura Mae Franklin; her stepdaughters, Cora Ann and Jack Foy, Patsy and George Tharp, and Joyce and Samuel Latta; her sisters and one brother-in-law, Mary and Paul Wasik and Wanda Brookmyer; and her 18 stepgrandchildren, 37 great-stepgrandchildren, and several great-great-stepgrandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Helen Franklin and extend our sincerest condolences to her family, friends, and community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to her family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
