SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of William "Bill" L. Corley
4 of Carterville on April 17, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Corley was born January 29, 1927, in
6 Carterville, to William T. and Myrtle Ann (Jones) Corley; and
 
7     WHEREAS, He married Mary E. Mangum on January 29, 1955, in
8 Marion; and
 
9     WHEREAS, He retired in 1993 after 30 years as a custodian
10 from Carterville Unit 5 Schools; and
 
11     WHEREAS, He honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy
12 during World War II and was a member of the VFW Post in West
13 Frankfort and the American Legion Post in Carterville; and
 
14     WHEREAS, He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel
15 Catholic Church; and
 
16     WHEREAS, He was a Carterville City Councilman for 36 years;
17 and
 
18     WHEREAS, He was a member of the Carterville Fire Department
19 and a life member of the Coal Belt Fire Association; and
 
20     WHEREAS, The passing of William "Bill" L. Corley is felt by
21 all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Mary; his son
22 and daughter-in-law, William T. and Judy Corley; his
23 granddaughters, Beth Ann Corley and Raven Everly and her
24 husband, Tim; his great-grandchildren, Kali Marie, Logan, and
25 Tyler Everly; his brother-in-law, Ennis Mangum; his
26 sister-in-law, Loretta McCabe; and his many nieces, nephews,
27 and cousins; therefore, be it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3 William "Bill" L. Corley and extend our sincerest condolences
4 to his family, friends, and community; and be it further
 
5     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
7 sympathy.
