SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with regret of the death of (Ulysses) Leon Hill on Sunday, April 3, 2004; and

WHEREAS, He was born on October 6, 1927, to Izola and Leon Hill, Sr., in Canton, Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, He valiantly served his country as a member of the United States Army; after his discharge, he attended Canton Commercial College in Mississippi; he later moved to Chicago, where he met and married Geraldine Regans on December 6, 1981; and

WHEREAS, He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, was baptized on July 19, 1989, and remained a faithful member until his passing; and

WHEREAS, The passing of (Ulysses) Leon Hill has been deeply felt by many, especially his wife, Geri Hill; his daughters, Mary Ann and Emma Jean; his six grandchildren; his twelve great-grandchildren; his stepson, Eric; his sisters, Gladys Archie, Katie Hill, and Dorothy (James) Grandberry; his brother, William (Rosie) Hill; and his many other relatives and countless friends; two brothers, Leon, Jr., and Jesse Hill, preceded him in death; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of (Ulysses) Leon Hill, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
