SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, Samuel T. Macrane Jr. of Naperville passed away
3 March 30, 2005; and
 
4     WHEREAS, Mr. Macrane was born and raised in Philadelphia
5 and moved to Naperville 42 years ago; and
 
6     WHEREAS, He worked for Uniroyal for 31 years as regional
7 manager, then was hired by Dearborn Rubber Corp. as corporate
8 vice-president/general manager; his final and most rewarding
9 venture was in Naperville politics where he served as
10 Naperville's mayor from 1991 to 1995 and as a city councilman
11 until his death; and
 
12     WHEREAS, He recently received the Lifetime Community
13 Service Award given by the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce;
14 and
 
15     WHEREAS, A devout Catholic, Mr. Macrane was a member of SS
16 Peter and Paul Church; he was an enthusiastic golfer, an
17 accomplished bowler, a creative cook, and always enjoyed a good
18 joke; and
 
19     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel
20 Sr. and Traviata Macrane; and
 
21     WHEREAS, He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marie; his
22 daughters, Karen (husband Charlie) Moss, Cindy (husband Mike)
23 McCabe, and Barb (husband Steve) Kowal; his son, Sam (wife
24 Melinda) Macrane III; his grandchildren, Adam, Bryan, and Kevin
25 Kowal, Emily, Katie, Noah, Rachel, and Tommy Macrane, Mark
26 McCabe, and Cody Duffy; and his sister, Marion Lavalla; and
 
27     WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud
28 grandfather, caring brother, and loyal friend; therefore, be it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we pay tribute to the
3 life of Samuel T. Macrane Jr. and extend our sincerest
4 condolences to the members of his family, his friends, and his
5 community; and be it further
 
6     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
8 sympathy.
