SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with regret of the death of Elizabeth "Jane" Kenney of St. Albans, West Virginia, on Monday, March 14, 2005; and

WHEREAS, She was the youngest of three children, and she born on Monday, December 16, 1925, in Fairmont, West Virginia, to Walker Whiting and Mildred Green Whiting; and

WHEREAS, She retired from the Mountaineer Gas Company with 20 years of service; she was a graduate of Bluefield State College and was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Charleston-Institute Alumnae Chapter, and the Links, Inc., Charleston-Institute Chapter; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Elizabeth "Jane" Kenney has been deeply felt by many, especially her husband, Howard D. Kenney; her sons, Paul Kenney and H. David Kenney; her daughter-in-law, Tra-C Kenney; her brother, Walker Whiting Jr.; her sisters-in-law, Arwilda Whiting and Angelina Whiting; and her seven grandchildren; she was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Paul Whiting; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Elizabeth "Jane" Kenney, and we extend our deepest sympathy to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to her family as an expression of our sincere condolences.
