SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Wendell Leon Nix, Jr., of Chicago on March 17, 2005; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Nix was born May 12, 1946, to Wendell L. Nix, Sr., and Lily Green; and

WHEREAS, He was married to Joyce Change and they were the parents of three children, Sean, Seth, and Scott; and

WHEREAS, He worked for over 20 years at Amoco Oil as a computer operator; for over 10 years, he was an active member of Martin Temple AME Zion Church, where he served as president of the men's club; he was also an active volunteer in the Boy Scouts, where his sons were also active; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Wendell L. Nix, Jr., is felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his sons, Sean, Seth, and Scott; his daughters-in-law, Danielle and Shoko; and his two grandchildren, Christian and Jada; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Wendell L. Nix, Jr., and extend our sincerest condolences to his family and friends; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
