SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
5 ILCS 420/4A-102.5 new

    Amends the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act. Requires that persons who file statements of economic interests because of their appointment to a board or commission requiring Senate confirmation must file a supplemental disclosure of certain campaign and legal defense fund contributions made by them and the names of their immediate family members who are registered as lobbyists with any State or federal agency or office. Effective immediately.

1     AN ACT concerning government.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Illinois Governmental Ethics Act is amended
5 by adding Section 4A-102.5 as follows:
 
6     (5 ILCS 420/4A-102.5 new)
7     Sec. 4A-102.5. Disclosure by State board and commission
8 members. Persons filing statements of economic interests as a
9 result of their nomination to a board or commission shall also,
10 at the same time and in the same manner, file a supplement to
11 the statement containing the following information:
12         (1) Any contributions, in excess of $150 in the
13     aggregate, to any political committee organized under the
14     Election Code made since the end of the last preceding
15     semi-annual disclosure period under Section 9-10 of the
16     Election Code and the date the person files the statement
17     of economic interests, including the amount of the
18     contribution, the date, and the recipient.
19         (2) Any contribution made to a legal defense fund since
20     the filing of the last previous statement of economic
21     interests or, if the person is filing his or her first
22     statement of economic interests, in the 12 months preceding
23     the filing date.
24         (3) The name of any immediate family member who is
25     registered as a lobbyist with any State or federal agency
26     or office.
 
27     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
28 becoming law.
