SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
625 ILCS 5/15-116 new

    Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that the Department of Transportation shall maintain and provide a listing of all Class I, Class II, and Class III designated streets and highways. Provides that the Department shall also list all local streets or highways that have been designated by local agencies. Provides that local agencies shall report to the Department all designated streets and highways under their jurisdiction and shall also provide to the Department reference contact names and telephone numbers. The Department shall also maintain and provide an official map of the Designated State Truck Route System that includes State and local streets and highways that have been designated.

1     AN ACT concerning transportation.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding
5 Section 15-116 as follows:
 
6     (625 ILCS 5/15-116 new)
7     Sec. 15-116. Designated truck route system. The Department
8 of Transportation shall maintain and provide a listing of all
9 Class I, Class II, and Class III designated streets and
10 highways as defined in Chapter 1 of this Code. The Department
11 shall also maintain and provide a listing of all local streets
12 or highways that have been designated Class II or Class III by
13 local agencies. Local agencies shall be responsible for
14 reporting to the Department all streets and highways under
15 their jurisdiction designated Class II and Class III. Local
16 agencies shall also provide to the Department reference contact
17 names and telephone numbers. The Department shall also maintain
18 and provide an official map of the Designated State Truck Route
19 System that includes State and local streets and highways that
20 have been designated Class I, Class II, or Class III.
