HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the State of Illinois are pleased to congratulate the Hoffman Estates High School girls bowling team on winning the IHSA State Championship; and

WHEREAS, After taking second place in 2005, the Hawks came from behind to win the tournament, defeating Plainfield Central and Collinsville; they trailed by 28 pins entering the third round and still managed to secure the title; and

WHEREAS, The Hawks won the Mid-Suburban League Conference and the IHSA Sectional meets through hard work and dedication; at the beginning of the year, they set a goal for the team and each member strived to achieve that goal; and

WHEREAS, The team is led by head coach Dan Pfligler and assistant coaches Gonz Bullon and Steve Kurbyun; and

WHEREAS, The members of the team are Mallory Haupert, Candice Whitecotton (10th place), Amanda Bein, Amanda Cortese, Natalie Cortese (11th place), Bridget Crowley, and Amanda Hoglund; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Hoffman Estates High School girls bowling team on winning the IHSA State Championship; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to each of the team members and coaches of the Hawks as an expression of our esteem.
