HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Grundy County was recently named the number two best place to live in the Midwest and the number six best place to live in the country by Progressive Farmer magazine; and

WHEREAS, Grundy County has a population of 40,142, with a population density of 93.39 per square mile; the average household income is $61,839 a year; and

WHEREAS, The student to teacher ratio in Grundy County is 15.34 with a college bound percentage of 62.91%; and

WHEREAS, Grundy County is home to family farms and nature areas along the Illinois, Kankakee, Des Plaines, and Mazon rivers, parks, hiking trails, hunting preserves, and fishing areas; it has deep black soils and is some of the richest farmland in the world; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the citizens of Grundy County on its recent accolades by Progressive Farmer magazine; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Grundy County as an expression of our esteem.
