HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Businesses in our State that work to make a healthy environment for patrons deserve to be commended; and

WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that The Continental restaurant has become one of very few restaurants in Buffalo Grove to adopt a "no smoking" policy; and

WHEREAS, Reminiscent of his native Cyprus and as a symbolic gesture of the new start the restaurant would have with the no smoking policy, owner Pete Panayioutou smashed the restaurant's ash trays; customers were allowed to participate in the impromptu ceremony; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize and commend the owner of The Continental restaurant in Buffalo Grove, Pete Panayioutou, for being one of very few restaurants in the Village of Buffalo Grove to adopt a "no smoking" policy; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to The Continental restaurant as an expression of our esteem.
