HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, Germantown Trust & Savings Bank recently began its
3 100th year of serving Clinton County; and
 
4     WHEREAS, Originally founded to serve the needs of
5 Germantown, the bank has grown to include four locations
6 serving all of Clinton County; established as Germantown
7 Savings Bank with beginning capital of $25,000, the bank was
8 renamed Germantown Trust & Savings Bank in 1977 and currently
9 holds assets in excess of $275,000,000; and
 
10     WHEREAS, The first officers of the bank were A.B. Daab,
11 president; and H.H. Schlarmann, vice president and cashier; the
12 board of directors included M.M. Stephens, former mayor of East
13 St. Louis; E.C. Kramer, attorney for the Southern Railway
14 Company; W.K. Kavanaugh, president of Southern Coal and Mining
15 Company; J.A. Bauer, physician; Henry Koch, lumber merchant;
16 A.B. Daab, vice president of the bank of Milstadt; and H.H.
17 Schlarmann, recorder of Clinton County; and
 
18     WHEREAS, In 1976, Germantown Savings Bank received the
19 power to operate a trust department and became one of only two
20 trust departments within Clinton County; the Breese facility
21 was built and opened in 1988, and Bartelso Savings Bank merged
22 with Germantown Trust & Savings Bank in 2000; and
 
23     WHEREAS, Today, the bank has locations in Breese,
24 Germantown, Bartelso, and Beckmeyer; the current board of
25 directors includes James R. Lampe, Joanne Lampe, Dale G.
26 Deiters, Janice L. Deiters, James R. Lampe II, Sylvia Henken,
27 and Frank Frerker; therefore, be it
 
28     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
29 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
30 we congratulate the Germantown Trust & Savings Bank board of

1 directors on the occasion of the bank's 100th anniversary; and
2 be it further
 
3     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4 presented to the board of directors of the Germantown Trust &
5 Savings Bank as an expression of our esteem.
