HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, After 26 years representing the Illinois
3 Restaurant Association and the restaurant industry, Cook
4 County Commissioner Larry Suffredin will be retiring from his
5 position as the Association's chief lobbyist; and
 
6     WHEREAS, For the last 26 years, Mr. Suffredin has worked on
7 the State and local levels to make the industry one of the
8 strongest in Illinois; and
 
9     WHEREAS, As Cook County Commissioner of the 13th District,
10 Mr. Suffredin was named Chairman of the Board's Legislation and
11 Intergovernmental Relations Committee, something rare for a
12 freshman member; he has also served on the Litigation
13 Subcommittee, the Tax and Revenue Subcommittee, the Rules
14 Committee, the Building Subcommittee, the Department of
15 Corrections Subcommittee, and the Botanic Garden Committee;
16 and
 
17     WHEREAS, Mr. Suffredin is a very successful attorney with a
18 legal career spanning nearly three decades; he has extensive
19 State and federal trial experience, and he has argued cases
20 before the United States and Illinois Supreme Courts as well as
21 circuits of the United States Court of Appeals and the Illinois
22 Appellate Court; furthermore, as an attorney, he built a
23 reputation as a government relations specialist at the local,
24 State, and federal levels; and
 
25     WHEREAS, Known for his broad knowledge of government and
26 politics, Mr. Suffredin is a partner at Shefsky & Froehlich;
27 therefore, be it
 
28     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
29 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
30 we thank Larry Suffredin for his hard work and service to the

1 State of Illinois on the occasion of his retirement, and we
2 wish him well in all of his future endeavors; after so many
3 years, his absence will be noted; and be it further
 
4     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5 presented to Mr. Suffredin as an expression of our deep respect
6 and esteem.
