HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Ellen Solomon Tuch is a citizen activist who has helped call attention to an important health issue in our State, the dangers of mercury, a potent bio-accumulative neurotoxin that causes brain damage in children and fetuses; and

WHEREAS, On November 1, 2005, Ellen Solomon Tuch chaired the Mercury Forum, sponsored by Representative Karen May, the Auto and Truck Recyclers of Illinois, the Illinois Association of Park Districts, the Illinois Park and Recreation Association, the Illinois Council of Trout Unlimited, the Prairie Rivers Network, the Izaak Walton League, The Sierra Club, REP America, Illinois Chapter, Illinois Biomedical Kids, Nucor Steel, Fluorecycle, Inc., the Autism Society of Illinois, and the Autism Dental Treatment Group, with participating partners, the Alliance for the Great Lakes, the Illinois Public Interest Research Group, the North Suburban Special Recreation Association, and the Environmental Law & Policy Center; and

WHEREAS, Ellen Solomon Tuch has devoted her energy, organizational skills, and passion to making the world a better place for our children and families; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we salute Ellen Solomon Tuch on her tireless efforts to make known the dangers of mercury, and for her work as Chairwoman of the Mercury Forum sponsored by Representative Karen May on November 1, 2005; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Ellen Solomon Tuch with our deep appreciation for her work.
