| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, A local human service agency director's more than |
| 3 |
| 30 years of accomplishments in Danville and Chicago were |
| 4 |
| recognized when Thom Pollock, executive director of Crosspoint |
| 5 |
| Human Services, received the Don Burke Award for Administrative |
| 6 |
| Excellence; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, The award, named for Don Burke, Crosspoint's |
| 8 |
| executive director from 1985 to 1991, was given by the Illinois |
| 9 |
| Association of Rehabilitation Facilities (IARF); and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, The IARF is the trade association for community |
| 11 |
| rehabilitation agencies in Illinois; its members serve people |
| 12 |
| with physical, mental, behavioral, developmental, and other |
| 13 |
| disabilities; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, In giving the award, IARF also acknowledged Mr. |
| 15 |
| Pollock's management innovations; in the late 1970s, he was one |
| 16 |
| of the first human service agency heads to complete a master's |
| 17 |
| degree in business administration; he was also an early |
| 18 |
| proponent of capital budgeting for non-profit agencies; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Crosspoint's Ombudsman Program, another Pollock |
| 20 |
| innovation, also has received statewide recognition; |
| 21 |
| therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 23 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 24 |
| we congratulate Thom Pollock on receiving the Don Burke Award |
| 25 |
| for Administrative Excellence and wish him the best in his |
| 26 |
| future endeavors; and be it further
|
| 27 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 28 |
| presented to Thom Pollock as an expression of our esteem.
