| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The Recreation Center of Highland Park is |
| 3 |
| scheduled for its dedication on Saturday, October 15, 2005; the |
| 4 |
| celebration will feature appearances by Park District and City |
| 5 |
| officials; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, The construction of the Recreation Center began in |
| 7 |
| June of 2004 as a cooperative venture between the City and the |
| 8 |
| Park District of Highland Park; built as an addition to the |
| 9 |
| Highland Park Country Club, the 60,000 square foot, |
| 10 |
| state-of-the-art recreation facility features several |
| 11 |
| amenities, including a 5,000 square foot fitness center, a |
| 12 |
| six-lane indoor swimming pool, two regulation basketball |
| 13 |
| courts, an elevated running/walking track, childcare, |
| 14 |
| programming, and multi-purpose rooms; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, In addition to the construction of the recreation |
| 16 |
| facility, this project also included improvements to the |
| 17 |
| adjacent infrastructure as well as the renovation of the |
| 18 |
| Highland Park Country Club Golf Shop and Cafe; therefore, be it
|
| 19 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 20 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 21 |
| we congratulate the Park District, City, and residents of |
| 22 |
| Highland Park on the opening of the new Recreation Center of |
| 23 |
| Highland Park on Saturday, October 15, 2005; and be it further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 25 |
| presented to the Recreation Center of Highland Park with our |
| 26 |
| best wishes.
