| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, Park Lawn's mission is to provide comprehensive |
| 3 |
| services for people with developmental disabilities and their |
| 4 |
| families; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Park Lawn's goal is to promote independence, |
| 6 |
| choice, and access to mainstream living; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, Park Lawn serves over 300 developmentally |
| 8 |
| disabled individuals from Evergreen Park and over 35 Chicago |
| 9 |
| and south suburban communities; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Park Lawn serves as an advocate for |
| 11 |
| developmentally disabled individuals at the State and federal |
| 12 |
| level to ensure they receive resources they need to live happy |
| 13 |
| and productive lives; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, Park Lawn provides an environment in which |
| 15 |
| participants are learning, working, and living a life that is |
| 16 |
| safe, full, and meaningful, as caring staff do their very best |
| 17 |
| to provide the very best for every individual they serve, |
| 18 |
| regardless of the severity of the disability; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, The 50th anniversary of the founding of Park Lawn |
| 20 |
| in 1955 by a small group of parents from Evergreen Park and Oak |
| 21 |
| Lawn will be remembered on October 1, 2005; therefore, be it
|
| 22 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 23 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 24 |
| we congratulate Park Lawn on the occasion of its 50th |
| 25 |
| anniversary; and be it further
|
| 26 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 27 |
| presented to Park Lawn as an expression of our deepest respect |
| 28 |
| and esteem and with best wishes for future success.
