HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the State of Illinois congratulate the Carthage High School Blueboys football team for bringing home the 2nd place trophy from the Class 2A State Football Championship game on November 26, 2004; and

WHEREAS, The Blueboys were the recipients of the 2nd place trophy for the third straight year and finished the 2004 football season with a very impressive 13-1 record; and

WHEREAS, Three Carthage football players were given all-state recognition: David Watts, Andrew Swearingen and Savas Melidis; and

WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive sports can be achieved only through strenuous practice, team play, and team spirit, nurtured by dedicated coaching and strategic planning; and

WHEREAS, The team members were loyally and enthusiastically supported by Carthage High School, the citizens of Carthage, and their friends and families; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Carthage High School football team on their outstanding season and their 2nd place trophy from the 2004 Class 2A State Football Championship game; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Carthage High School as an expression of our esteem and with best wishes in their future competitions.
