HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Robert "Bob" Wilcox retired on May 2, 2005, after over 20 years of exemplary service as Village of Matteson's Fire Chief; and

WHEREAS, Fire Chief Wilcox was appointed Deputy Administrator/Director of Public Services for the Village of Matteson upon his retirement; and

WHEREAS, He holds a master's degree in public administration and management; and

WHEREAS, He served as the Illinois representative in the Great Lakes Division of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, played an active and instrumental role in the International Association of Arson Investigators, the Illinois Fire Chief's Association, the National Fire Protection Association, and the Fourth District Fire Chief's Association, and was the past president of the Third District Fire Chief's Association; and

WHEREAS, As a professional consultant, he extended the professional development of others through his moderation and training within the assessment process of Fire and Emergency Service Professionals and aspirants to command positions within the profession; and

WHEREAS, The citizens of Matteson are grateful for his accomplishments, dedication to service, and commitment to his profession and leadership within the community; and

WHEREAS, He and his wife, Darlene, have two children, Jason and Janelle, and a granddaughter, Kelsey; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Fire Chief Robert "Bob" Wilcox on his retirement, we thank him for his many years of outstanding public service, and we wish him the best in his new position; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Robert "Bob" Wilcox as an expression of our respect and esteem.
