HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Phillip Van Noord of South Holland has retired after completing his 43rd year of teaching at Illiana Christian High School; and

WHEREAS, He began his work at Illiana primarily teaching science; he became a math teacher four years later, and he has taught Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 over the years; and

WHEREAS, He is known as a very passionate, organized, caring, and energetic man who enjoys young people, has an affinity for numbers, and likes to talk; and

WHEREAS, For a number of years he was an assistant basketball coach and head coach for track and field and cross country; and

WHEREAS, During the past five years, he has worked as one of the co-sponsors of the Christian Service Club; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Van Noord plans to take some time to rest and relax with his wife, Betty, and visit their ten grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Phillip Van Noord on his long and exemplary teaching career and we thank him for his commitment and service to his students, school, and community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Phillip Van Noord as an expression of our respect and esteem and with our best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement.
