1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, Riverboats licensed under the Riverboat Gambling
3 Act generate millions of dollars in revenue each year for the
4 communities in which they dock; and

5     WHEREAS, The city of Elgin has received a vast windfall
6 from the riverboats that dock within its borders; therefore, be
7 it

8     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
10 the Illinois House of Representatives urges that, if a license
11 authorizing riverboat gambling operations in Cook County is
12 issued, any municipality in which riverboats dock pursuant to
13 such a license enter into agreements with all other
14 municipalities in Cook County, other than Elgin, to share the
15 revenues generated by riverboat gambling conducted pursuant to
16 such a license; and be it further

17     RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
18 delivered to the top ranking municipal official in each
19 municipality in Cook County.
