HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Pfc. Wyatt Dale Eisenhauer who gave his life in Said of Abdullah (Southern Baghdad), Iraq, in the service of his country on May 19, 2005, while serving with Headquarters and Headquarters Company 2nd Battalion, 70th Armor, 3rd Brigade Combat team, 1st Armored Division United States Army; and

WHEREAS, In 2004, he joined the U.S. Army, following in the footsteps of his father, Fred Eisenhauer and Grandpa Fred "Fritz" Eisenhauer; he completed his basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky and was stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas, when his unit deployed to Iraq; and

WHEREAS, Pfc. Eisenhauer was born in Pinckneyville, the county of Perry, on Flag Day, June 14, 1978, the son of Fred and Gay Eisenhauer; he was a brother to Rebecca, Hannah, and Leah; and

WHEREAS, He went to kindergarten in Pinckneyville, attended Pinckneyville Grade School, and graduated from Pinckneyville High School; while in high school, he was a member of the Pinckneyville Panther's wrestling team, band, and V.I.C.A.; he was honored for distinguished achievement when placing first place in the State Diesel Equipment Technician competition; he loved music and played the trumpet, guitar, baritone, and piano; he also set up sound systems and ran the sound boards for many bands; after high school, he attended Southern Illinois University-Carbondale in the Automotive Mechanic program; and

WHEREAS, He loved the outdoors and thoroughly enjoyed fishing, as well as kayaking down Beaucoup Creek; he also loved rock climbing, camping, and animals, especially his bird, Jake; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dale and Joy Farthing and Fred "Fritz" Eisenhauer; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Wyatt Dale Eisenhauer is felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his parents, Fred and Gay Eisenhauer; his sister, Rebecca Anderson and her family, husband, Willie Anderson, nieces, Alexis and Caitlyn Anderson, and nephew and namesake, Jacob William Dale Anderson; his sisters, Hannah and Leah Eisenhauer; his grandmother, Catherine Eisenhauer; his great-grandmother, Ruth Huffstutler; his aunts and uncles, Larry and Sherry Goldman, Todd and Susan Farthing, Tim and Carla Hankla, Darrell and Sharon Eisenhauer, Ross and Linda Eisenhauer, and Bill and Mary Lou Ozburn; and a host of cousins and friends; and

WHEREAS, His family is extremely proud of Wyatt Dale Eisenhauer, who was a very humble young man, a private person, with wisdom beyond his years, who made the supreme sacrifice for his nation and the family he loved; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that together with his family, friends, and the citizens of this State and this great nation, we mourn the passing of Wyatt Dale Eisenhauer, for the truest heroes of the Iraq War are the members of the United States Armed Forces who have made the ultimate sacrifice of their lives on behalf of their country; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
