HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the
3 State of Illinois are pleased to honor Beverlie Jean Slota for
4 her many hours of community volunteer work; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Beverlie Jean Slota was born on August 3, 1925,
6 and raised on the North side of Chicago; she graduated from
7 Lakeview High School and Metropolitan Business College; she was
8 married to a World War II veteran in 1945 and had three sons,
9 two who were in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam; and
 
10     WHEREAS, She held various positions in the accounting field
11 throughout the years; her last position was with Excellent
12 Builders, where she was the Full-Charge Bookkeeper and Office
13 Manager; she held this position for 15 years before retiring;
14 and
 
15     WHEREAS, Mrs. Slota moved to Waukegan in June of 2000 to be
16 closer to her family; in her new home, she has been known to
17 selflessly help others; to keep herself busy, she volunteers at
18 the Genesee Theatre during renovations; she has volunteered two
19 days a week at St. Therese Hospital, doing clerical work and
20 working at the information desk; and she has been working with
21 Representative Eddie Washington for a year and a half; and
 
22     WHEREAS, Mrs. Slota was recently awarded Volunteer of the
23 Year for 2004 for Vista Health-St. Therese Medical Center,
24 where she had a total of 408 hours of volunteer service;
25 therefore, be it
 
26     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
27 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
28 we honor Beverlie Jean Slota for her many hours of community
29 volunteer work, and we thank her for her selfless service to
30 others; and be it further

1     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to Mrs. Slota as an expression of our deepest respect
3 and esteem.
