HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives learned with sadness of the death of Anthony W.
4 "Tony" Dyhrkopp of Gold Hill Ranch, Shawneetown, on April 10,
5 2005; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Mr. Dyhrkopp was born September 17, 1947, in
7 Evansville, Indiana, the son of Einar and Frances (Sanders)
8 Dyhrkopp of Shawneetown; and
 
9     WHEREAS, He graduated from Shawneetown High School in 1965
10 and received his Juris Doctorate degree from North Carolina in
11 1974; he also studied at Chicago Kent College of Law, Parson
12 College, and enrolled in a European study program with the
13 International College of Copenhagen, Denmark, spending
14 considerable time in Russia, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Romania,
15 Hungary, East and West Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and
16 Spain; and
 
17     WHEREAS, He served as an Assistant Illinois Attorney
18 General, specializing in revenue litigation and consumer
19 fraud, between two terms as Gallatin County State's Attorney;
20 he also served as a Hearing Officer for Secretary of State
21 Jessie White; and
 
22     WHEREAS, He was a member of First Baptist Church in
23 Shawneetown; he was vice-president of Tecumseh International,
24 an alumni of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, a member of the
25 Equality Masonic Lodge 2, and a lifelong Democrat; and
 
26     WHEREAS, He will be remembered as an affable man with a
27 good sense of humor; and
 
28     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his grandmother,
29 Myrtle Schwander and his great-grandfather, Guy R. Lambert; his

1 grandmother Vevith (Denton) Dyhrkopp; his grandfather, Victor
2 Dyhrkopp; his great-grandmother, Sarah H. Denton; and his
3 great-uncle, Col. Samuel A. Denton, and his wife, Ethel; and
 
4     WHEREAS, The passing of Anthony W. "Tony" Dyhrkopp is felt
5 by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife of 28 years,
6 Ellen (Lambert) Dyhrkopp; his sons, Douglas Einar Dyhrkopp and
7 Aaron Joseph Dyhrkopp; his daughter, Kara Ruth Dyhrkopp; his
8 parents, Einar and Frances Dyhrkopp; and numerous other
9 relatives; therefore, be it
 
10     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
11 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
12 we mourn the passing of Anthony W. "Tony" Dyhrkopp and extend
13 our sincere and heartfelt condolences to his family, friends,
14 and community; and be it further
 
15     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
17 sympathy.
