| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, It has come to the attention of the Illinois House |
| 3 |
| of Representatives that Life Scout Tom McGill of Mendota has |
| 4 |
| completed the necessary requirements to obtain the rank of |
| 5 |
| Eagle Scout, the highest advancement rank within the Boy Scouts |
| 6 |
| of America; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, On May 1, 2005, he will be honored at a special |
| 8 |
| court of honor for achieving the Eagle Scout award; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Tom McGill is a lifeguard and cook for the Boy |
| 10 |
| Scouts, is third master for the Mendota Boy Scout Troop 4102, |
| 11 |
| was elected Order of the Arrow by his peers, and is a member of |
| 12 |
| the Shine and Youth groups; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, He has accumulated 33 merit badges; in order to |
| 14 |
| become an Eagle Scout, a scout must complete 21 merit badges, |
| 15 |
| have community service hours, and do an Eagle project that |
| 16 |
| benefits the community; Tom's Eagle project, which took over |
| 17 |
| 120 man hours to complete, is located on Holy Cross Church |
| 18 |
| property; he planned and oversaw the construction of a concrete |
| 19 |
| path and installation of a meditation bench by 20 community |
| 20 |
| volunteers; and
|
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, Mendota Boy Scout Troop 4102 is very proud of |
| 22 |
| their newest Eagle Scout; and
|
| 23 |
| WHEREAS, He is the son of James T. and Carol A. McGill; |
| 24 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 26 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |

| we join his family and friends in congratulating Tom McGill |
| 28 |
| upon attaining the coveted rank of Eagle Scout and commend him |
