HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives were saddened to learn of the death of Glenda Walton of Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Walton was born January 30, 1960, to William and Lovie Walton, Sr., in Chicago; she was the twin sister to Glenn Walton and the fifth child of eight siblings; and

WHEREAS, She attended Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Grade School and Harlan High School; she graduated with honors in the top ten of her class from Jones Commercial High School; she was in her second year at Chicago State University where she was majoring in child development; and

WHEREAS, She was active in programs at the Progressive Baptist Church; she was a member of the Young Adult Choir and served as secretary of the Sunday School for a number of years; she later joined Merrill Avenue Baptist Church; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Walton was joined in marriage to Malcom Mills in 1981; to this union was born a daughter, Amanda, who gave her two grandchildren, Ayania and Mayon; and

WHEREAS, She worked as a Check Investigator at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago for 18 years and as a Patient Account Analyst for United Health Care Insurance for five years; she did a lot of neighborhood and community work under the guidance of State Representative Constance Howard, which she truly enjoyed and loved doing; she loved life and giving back to the community was a great joy for her; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Glenda Walton is felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her daughter, Amanda Mills (Michael); her granddaughter, Ayania; her grandson, Mayon; her parents; her twin brother, Glenn (Linda); her brothers, Carl, Robert (Annida), and William, Jr., (Tracy); her sisters, Deborah, Yvette, Roxanna, and Marsha Armstead; and her nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Glenda Walton and extend to her family our sincerest condolences; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to her family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
