| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois wish to congratulate True Nature Foods on the |
| 4 |
| occasion of the celebration of the expansion of its store; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Since 1984, True Nature Foods store has been |
| 6 |
| providing the Edgewater community with healthful and organic |
| 7 |
| foods; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Owner Paula Companio continues to work towards |
| 9 |
| True Nature Foods store becoming a LEED building (Leadership in |
| 10 |
| Energy and Environmental Design), the most environmentally |
| 11 |
| sound building designation in the country; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, More than 300 local families contribute to the |
| 13 |
| organic co-ops, which deliver food to the store; the co-ops |
| 14 |
| include Kings Hill Farm, Wisconsin; Green Meadows Farm, |
| 15 |
| Michigan; and Family Farms, Indiana; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, True Nature Foods will rent out the space behind |
| 17 |
| its store to the Chamber Board in order to build a concrete |
| 18 |
| pad; the pad will store recycled corrugated cardboard discarded |
| 19 |
| by local businesses and neighbors in an effort to increase |
| 20 |
| recycling and reduce landfill use; and
|
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, The expansion of True Nature Foods store will |
| 22 |
| allow it to become a full service natural food store and will |
| 23 |
| allow its food vendors to expand what they currently offer in |
| 24 |
| addition to offering more Edgewater residents the chance to eat |
| 25 |
| healthy; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 27 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 28 |
| we congratulate True Nature Foods on the occasion of the |
| 29 |
| celebration of the expansion of its store, and we wish the |
