HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the State of Illinois are pleased to recognize citizens who have made outstanding contributions to their community; and

WHEREAS, For the past 37 years, John Clayton has been assisting the Masonic Lodge with training activities; he is an honorary member of 32 Lodges, and his first honorary membership was in Highland; and

WHEREAS, During his tenure with the Masonic Lodge, Mr. Clayton has held several positions, including Grand Lecturer (1978), Grand Lecturer Instructor (1990-1993), and Grand Representative to South Wales and Australia (1990-1995); and

WHEREAS, Mr. Clayton valiantly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy; he served on the U.S.S. Idaho in the South Pacific and earned five battle stars; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we honor R.W. Bro. John Clayton for his many years of volunteer service with the Masonic Lodge; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mr. Clayton as an expression of our respect and esteem.
