| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, A retirement celebration will be held in honor of |
| 3 |
| Paul V. Johnson, Assistant Executive Director of Rolling |
| 4 |
| Prairie Library System (RPLS) in Decatur, on June 21, 2005; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Johnson holds a B.A. in English and a Master |
| 6 |
| of Library Sciences from the University of Kentucky; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, He joined RPLS in 1973 as Interlibrary Loan |
| 8 |
| Librarian, in an era where there was no automation of any kind |
| 9 |
| at the System; he became involved in library system automation |
| 10 |
| in 1976; he supervised the initial process of automating one |
| 11 |
| library, and during the next 29 years, he participated in three |
| 12 |
| migrations to different automation vendors and helped the |
| 13 |
| system automation project grow to over 140 libraries; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Johnson became Assistant Executive Director |
| 15 |
| of RPLS in 1984; he shared in the administrative responsibility |
| 16 |
| for two extensive building remodelling projects; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Paul and his wife Mitzi have been married almost |
| 18 |
| 32 years; they have four children, Rachael (husband Al) Ludwig, |
| 19 |
| Rebecca Johnson, Frank Johnson, and Ben Johnson; and
|
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, He is an active member of St. Patrick Parish and |
| 21 |
| the Knights of Columbus in Decatur; he is President of the St. |
| 22 |
| Teresa School Board and is a member of the Macon County Draft |
| 23 |
| Board; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 25 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 26 |
| we congratulate Paul V. Johnson on the occasion of his |
| 27 |
| retirement after 32 years of service; and be it further
|
