HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, Well-known area farmer and businessman Richard R.
3 Rubenacker of McLeansboro passed away February 23, 2005; and
 
4     WHEREAS, Mr. Rubenacker was born June 28, 1934, in Belle
5 Prairie City to Rudolph and Emma (Kiefer) Rubenacker; he
6 married Margarette J. (Jody) Biggerstaff on November 22, 1956;
7 and
 
8     WHEREAS, His family operates a grain farm in the Hamilton
9 County area; they are also the owners of Hamilton County
10 Equipment in McLeansboro and White County Equipment in Carmi,
11 the area Case IH dealerships; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Well-known as an area entertainer and fiddle
13 player, Mr. Rubenacker was an original member of Country Kin in
14 the 1970s; in later years, he enjoyed performing at charitable
15 functions and community activities, along with his
16 brother-in-law, Leo Aydt; and
 
17     WHEREAS, In 1983, he was named Master Farmer of the Year by
18 Prairie Farmer Magazine and has been featured in various other
19 farm publications; and
 
20     WHEREAS, He served on numerous boards and committees,
21 including the Peoples National Bank Board of Directors, Rend
22 Lake College Foundation Board, Rend Lake College Agricultural
23 Advisory Board, Hamilton County Unit 10 School Board, Hamilton
24 County Board of Supervisors, Southeastern Illinois Planning
25 Commission, Dahlgren Township Supervisor, Wayne-White Counties
26 Electric Cooperative Board, Federal Land Bank Board, Farmers
27 Home Administration Board, and Hamilton County Soil and Water
28 Conservation Board; and
 
29     WHEREAS, He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic

1 Church in Piopolis and a member of the St. Isadore Council
2 Knights of Columbus; and
 
3     WHEREAS, The greatest loves of his life were his wife, his
4 family, farming, and entertaining; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents and
6 brothers-in-law, Lawrence Dolan, John "Gene" Rubenacker, and
7 John Kreher; and
 
8     WHEREAS, The passing of Richard R. Rubenacker is felt by
9 all who knew and loved him, especially his wife of 48 years,
10 Jody; his sons, Randy and wife Debbie (Rapp), Rodney and wife
11 Carmin (Hunt), and Terry and wife Stacy (Myers); his
12 grandchildren, Ricky, Rachel, Robert, Adam and Megan
13 Rubenacker, and Lucendia Adams; and his sisters, Bernice Dolan,
14 Virginia Rubenacker, and Alice Kreher; therefore, be it
 
15     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
16 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
17 we mourn the passing of Richard R. Rubenacker and extend our
18 heartfelt condolences to his family; and be it further
 
19     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
21 sympathy.
